HOTEL REVIEW: MOTEL ONE WIEN STAATSOPER

29 Sep 2016

Today I want to share some impressions of my stay at the MotelOne Wien-Staatsoper with you guys. Being a student I couldn't ask for a better combination of an affordable but still stylish place to stay at. Let me know if you enjoy reading reviews and what you would like to hear about next!

LOCATION

Best things first- you definitely cannot ask for a better location to stay at when being in Vienna. The hotel is located just around the corner of the eponymic Vienna State Opera, which also was the inspiration for the hotel's interior. Being really central you can reach famous sights like the Stephansdom by foot (and have I talked about all the shops nearby?). The underground junction 'Karlsplatz' is also located just a few steps away.

ROOM

We were really lucky to have been given the corner room on the last floor which was not only really quiet but also really light-flooded thanks to all the windows. The room was equipped with a king-size double bed, a desk and a flatscreen TV. The only thing missing was a safe (wouldn't have needed one this time but usually it's good to have one especially when being on a city or business trip!). Even though the bathroom was quite small it definitely convinced with it's spacious Raindance shower allowing to really calm down and relax after a stressful day in the city. Parts of the room's interior are inspired by elements of the old K&K Monarchy, which gives an imperial but still modern feel to it.

BREAKFAST& BAR

Breakfast is not included within your stay but for €9,50 you can take advantage of the hotel's breakfast buffet. It offers a choice of various types of bread, croissants, cake, cheese, sausages, vegetables, yogurt, fruits, spreads aaaand so on. And most important: lots of coffee and tea! You can definitely tell that great value is set upon regional bio-products, which I find really important. Unfortunately we had no chance to try out the hotel's own bar, which is known for it's regional selection of Gin (over 40 different varieties I've been told!). I definitely will do so next time!

All things considered it was a really pleasant stay and I can only recommend this MotelOne to you guys. I'm convinced I'll find myself checking in to another MotelOne anytime soon! You can check out their destinations here
